Foundations

There is no requirement for you to create a solid foundation for our garden pods. To eliminate any costs or inconvenience to you, we include custom-made concrete pile foundations along with robust galvanized steel legs and base plates. These steel legs are adjustable, allowing us to set up our garden pods on both level and slightly uneven terrain. As a result, your garden pod is slightly elevated above the ground, creating a ventilated space underneath. This design ensures that your garden pod remains unaffected by any potential rising damp issues.

A choice of external cladding materials

  • Fibre Cement Boarding: Fibre cement boards are a high-quality, low-maintenance and water-resistant cladding solution that have been manufactured to withstand harsh weather conditions with little expansion or contraction. Unlike timber, fibre cement boards are not susceptible to rot, mould or pests, and do not require staining or treatment. Fibre cement boards are available in a range of colours as well as an unpainted option, allowing you to create your desired look with ease. Colours include: Cream, Sage Green, Slate, Granite, Light Grey, Black, Blue, and White.
  • Smooth Composite Cladding: Manufactured using a combination of 60% recycled hardwood fibres and 40% recycled plastic, our smooth composite cladding is zero maintenance and insect and rot resistant. Unlike traditional timber cladding, our smooth composite cladding does not require staining, varnishing or sanding throughout its lifespan. Available in a range of eight composite colours - Redwood, Olive Green, Ivory, Teak, Coffee, Charcoal, Light Grey and Stone Grey.
  • Woodgrain Composite Cladding: Woodgrain composite cladding allow you to effortlessly achieve a wood cladding look on your exterior garden shed walls. The woodgrain texture gives a natural wood effect. Again manufactured using a combination of 60% recycled hardwood fibres and 40% recycled plastic, our woodgrain composite cladding is zero maintenance and insect and rot resistant. Unlike traditional timber cladding, our woodgrain composite cladding does not require staining, varnishing or sanding throughout its lifespan. Available in a range of eight composite colours - Redwood, Olive Green, Ivory, Teak, Coffee, Charcoal, Light Grey and Stone Grey.
  • Thermowood Timber: Thermowood external timber cladding offers a consistent brown tone for a beautiful appearance with outstanding durability. Thermowood does not require any additional treatment or maintenance and if left over time the wood will naturally change to a silvery grey colour similar to cedar or larch. However some people prefer to add a finish, stain or paint to keep the brown tones.

Traditional timber frame construction

Traditional timber frame construction offers a timeless and attractive option for garden pods. It provides a strong and sturdy structure that can be customized to suit your aesthetic preferences and functional needs. When built and maintained properly, timber frame garden rooms can last for generations, adding value and charm to your outdoor space. Timber frame construction has been used for centuries and is known for its durability and versatility.

External composite decking

As standard we include a 300mm dark grey (anthracite) composite decking along the entire front elevation of the garden pod. The main advantage of composite decking is that it will not fade or scratch like traditional timber decking and will retain its colour year after year. In addition composite decking has a very low risk for slipping when wet.

Anthracite (dark grey) PVCu doors and window

Every garden pod structure comes equipped with premium anthracite PVC-U profiles, known for their superior quality. These anthracite door and window profiles contract perfectly with the different shades of our external cladding materials. Furthermore, the dark grey profiles provide not only aesthetically pleasing sightlines but also boast exceptional security measures, impressive durability, and outstanding thermal efficiency. Our standard package comprises one 2.4 metre wide sliding patio door section and one 850mm x 400mm wide opening window.

Double glazing & security

Every double glazing unit we offer is of the highest quality, featuring A-rated tinted Planitherm argon gas-filled double glazed units, complete with super warm edge spacers and trickle vents. Unlike many glass manufacturers that employ hard coatings resulting in a dusty, hazy appearance on the glass surface, Planitherm clear glass utilizes a distinct process, resulting in a superbly energy-efficient, naturally clear finish. Each individual aluminium reinforced PVCu door and window is fitted with insurance approved locks.

Fully insulated walls and floor

The structural timber floor and wall sections contain 75mm Knauf RS45 thermal acoustic insulation. Knauf is one of the UKs market leaders in insulation and its products are the most thermally efficient and technically advanced insulation products available today.

Insulated interlocking roof panels

Our garden pod roofs are constructed using a highly insulated trapezoidal roof panel system. The 120mm roof panel is sandwiched with 100mm thick PIR rigid thermal insulation. The highly insulated trapezoidal roof panels span the single pitch, with a fall from front to back. The outside edges of the dark grey roof panels are additionally covered with a matching dark grey aluminium roof edge trim and anthracite (dark grey) composite roof fascia boards.

Guttering & Downpipe

Black half round PVCu guttering runs along the entire rear elevation of the garden pod and is connected to a PVCu down pipe and outlet. The insulated roof has a 3-4 degree slop to the rear - allowing rainwater to flow to the rear guttering and downpipe outlet.

High performance breathable membrane

The insulated garden pod walls are wrapped in a specialist high performance waterproof breathing membrane. This membrane acts like a one way valve and allows natural moisture to escape - but prevents moisture from entering the building. Our high quality garden pods incorporate double vented timber walls allowing air to circulate, enabling the structure to breathe. The first vent allows air to circulate between the outer cladding and the breathing membrane. The second vent allows air to circulate between the breathing membrane and the internal thermal insulation.

OSB timber lined interior walls

Inside our quality garden pods you will find all the walls lined with OSB timber. Oriented strand board (OSB) is an engineered timber board which has superior strength than plywood and is ideal for the inside of a garden pod. The OSB board is a substantial interior timber lining suitable for fixing shelving, racks, hooks and brackets to support items. The interior OSB adds strength to the overall structure and adds an additional insulation layer to the garden pod. The OSB board can be left natural, stained or painted any colour to suit your preferences.

Internal flooring & skirting

The internal timber floor carcase is completely covered using an industrial grade moisture resistant 18mm tongue and grooved timber floor boarding. In addition each garden pod floor is supplied and fitted with a foam underlay and high quality light oak or washed grey oak laminate wooden floor. Laminate flooring is very hardwearing and easy to clean, making it the perfect flooring choice for an outdoor garden pod. In addition the garden pod is supplied with timber chamfered skirting boards.

10 year structural guarantee

For total peace of mind all our garden pods are covered by a 10 year structural guarantee. This covers design and manufacturing faults, material failure, corrosion and rot for a period of 10 years from the date of installation. In addition to our garden pod 10 year guarantee we will pass on all manufacturers' guarantees for items including: doors and windows.
